How Much Bleeding Is To Much?
A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

I have severe bleeding as in it won't stop at all I've had my period for around two years now and it is such a burden I feel like I can't live a normal life. The doctor's have tried everything from the pill and injections to something that is suppose to stop all bleeding in the body but nothing has worked. She is now suggesting an I.U.D but I've heard alot of bad feedback. Is there anyone who has had the same issue who has tried anything alternative that has helped reduce bleeding ?

I have had an IUD for over 2 years and it has almost completely stopped my period. One or two very light days a month. I was skeptical at first too because I had heard a mix of reviews as well but I decided to take the risk and it has worked out very well for me so at least now you know of someone whose not had any issues.

Have you asked your doctor to check for fibroids?

I too thought I was alone in this, I went from barely ever getting my period to now non stop :( I've known a few people with PCOS and no one was going through the same as I was. I know everyones case is different but it hits me hard, like you said we cant live a normal life like this. It sucks but im glad I read your post because now I feel like im not alone.

Hi Jasmin, I go through the same thing, I have prolonged periods that get sooo frustrating. I have tried many things and my doctor had suggested the IUD but I too hear so many negative things about it and its not 100% guaranteed that it is going to help. I've tried metformin, birth control, changing my diet and even had a few D&C's. Hopefully someone will have an answer for us :(
