I have given up sugar and processed foods. I highly recommend recipes from thatsugarfilm.com I've lost a tonne of weight and I can't believe how I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything.

I've gone to doing organic veggie protein shakes with almond coconut milk twice s day. Then lean protein and a veggie for dinner. If I have snack in between, it is usually some type of berry with protein. I cut out all breads, pastas, etc. fruit is pretty non existent except the berries, apples and an occasional orange. So far I've only been able to drop 10 lbs, but I'm still trying. Oh and lots of water!
I do low carb and no carbs after 3pm at all. Try and limit junk food and no fast food at all. For drinks I only have water no soft drink or coffee, etc. Just live by the food pyramid mostly. I also snack between meals and have smaller portion sizes using bread and butter plates. I've lost 50kg (115pounds) by doing this and taking Metformin. It wasn't easy but now I've made the changes it's easy to keep at it.
I have given up grains, dairy, legumes, processed foods, soy, processed sugar, starchy veggies....I eat meats, veggies, very small amounts of fruit and nuts. Down 40 lbs since mid january. Eggs at breakfast. Meat and veggies and 1/2 cup fruit at lunch. Meat and veggies at supper.
