I'm trying to loose weight, but having a hard time finding a diet for people with pcos that works for me. Just looking for some feed back on what some of you guys have found that work
I lost 115pounds/52kg in 14 months through changing my lifestyle. I found going on a 'diet' didn't help ever so I changed my lifestyle and bang it happened. I did cut my carb intake in half. Included lots of meat, fruit and vegetables. Had dairy daily. Weekly treats with a chocolate or chips, sometimes both! Still have to include all the food groups because your body needs them it's just about finding the right portions for you, everyone is different. And you have to treat yourself otherwise it won't work. I use bread and butter plates for meals so portion sizes are smaller and swapped my meals around so I have my big meal at lunch and smaller at dinner. Also no eating after 6pm at all! Also exercised 5-6 days a week for 1-2hours a day. It's been 2 years and I've managed to keep the weight off by continuing my lifestyle change. It's not easy but it can be done.
Low carb and anti-inflammatory. Scientifically it's the only diet that the research supports and if you can stick to it then you'll notice results. I lost a stone just by switching around my proportions and cutting out things like gluten and dairy.
Thank you
Low carb definitely. I've read that a keto/paleo diet without dairy is very good for people with PCOS. try and stay away from anything with added sugars as well. Healthy fats and protein is best. I use MyFitnessPal to track macros and I'm trying to get my carbs down.
No problem. Let us know if you're struggling to find good recipes. I have a few tried and trusted favourites :)
