My doctor is switching me off of Spironolactone, after just two weeks, because of concerns about my kidney function. He is now prescribing Proscar (Finasteride). Has anyone had any experience using this? Any input of if you liked it, or hated it, and why? I did a brief online research that did not yield many encouraging results. I would love to hear some real life experiences with this med.
Thank you so much!!’ I’ll keep my fingers crossed for the both of us :)
I haven't noticed any changes yet, weight or otherwise. However, my recent blood test showed my Testosterone levels down almost to the normal range, so I have high hopes that I will start to see some positive progress soon. I can't judge by menstrual cycle due to an endometrial ablation six years ago, so I have to look for subtle changes. Hopefully we both start to see positive results soon!
I just started it November 8th and after two years of having no period. I am finally having one. I’ve been diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease so I’ve been unable to take Spironolactone. I’ve already noticed some changes in facial hair growth. Immediately, my chin stopped doing the 5 o’clock shadow thing. Lol. I hope you are doing well on it. May I ask if you’ve noticed any weight changes? I’m dieting and have lost nearly 45 lbs. but it’s been really tenuous. Anyway, good luck and I’m Lara. It is nice to meet you. :). I’m new on here.
