How Do Y'all Handle The Pain Of A Ruptured Or Leaky Cyst?
A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

My cysts really act up about once a month...if I'm lucky once every two months. I am not on birth control because my husband and I are TTC and I am under the care of an RE. When I have an issue with my cysts, the pain is so horrible that it makes me throw up, I can barely move. My husband has had to carry me before. Usually I end up in the ER with the same routine...labs, pain meds, nausea meds, *sometimes* an ultrasound. The problem is it is usually my right side, so they always want me to… read more

I don’t have a real answer but I’m just letting you know you are not alone. I have the same issues, I’m in the hospital at least once every 2 months and same drill.... ultrasound to rule out appendix or colon issues and bam same thing every time .... I just go for the meds they work fast and I get a few days of them for recovery. My work hates me I’ve become so unreliable because of this..... dress pants are also a night mare to wear when you are bloated and In so much pain. I have not found a solution. Birth control pill has stopped the frequency of small cyst bursts but when we were trying to Concieve ( we have 2x so lucky) it was a painful experience tho.... sex sometimes led to cyst bursts too! You are totally not alone!

Hi, I get pain from my cysts 1-2x a month and it's sharp stabbing pain, and mostly in my right ovary, and i don't have an appendix so it has to be the cysts, but the only thing that helps me is tylenol and folding myself into a fetal position. If i can handle to stretch out and lay normally, i try to use a heating pad or rice pack and that seems to help.

I wish I had an answer for you. I don't get them as often, but mine tend to rupture... They too give me meds and send me on my way... I know that eating healthier, and eating foods and supplements that help balance my hormones has helped me not get them as often... but I still get them. I also tend to get them where the ultrasound can't see... so the person doing the ultrasound reports back that there were no cysts... But my doctor realizes that, so he doesn't just dismiss my concerns. I also get them on my right side...
