I have struggled with my weight since diagnosis, going up a little bit each year but just getting heavier each year. This year i got super cranky about it so Doctor & I had a chat about it. I joined a program and have lost 17 kg’s since May. My insulin resistance is gone I’m off my metaformin. Feeling fabulous gone from a size 16/18 to a 10. No gimmicks no shakes no crap just straight up teach you how to eat for your metabolism type. I’m in Australia and happy to share this. I’m a real person, i go grocery shopping I now just know how, what & when to eat things in the best way for my body.
Honestly I’ve had a gastric bypass that never worked. I lost 50 pounds of muscle that was it.
It’s been 6 years and I’m still 303 pounds.
The only way of eating that works for me is
Less than 20 carbs a day
Meat veggies
Low fat intake
And walking 5-10 miles a day.
I used to kill myself at the gym and doing videos etc and never lost weight. It’s because you can’t outrun a bad diet. Keep it clean no sugars low carb and it will come off. I lost 50 pounds in two months just doing that. I got a Fitbit to track my steps.
I have always been active: dancing, weight training, etc. but I always struggled to shed down to a happy weight. I started to see success when I changed my diet. Now I still am not where I’d like to be, but I don’t feel embarrassed to be in a bikini anymore either. I started following paleo, not strictly but generally. I notice I bloat more when I eat grains- pasta, bread, things like that. If I can limit my intake of unnecessary grains, I find myself to stay in charge for the most part.
Cardio and a regular exercise routine is bonus. It’s important to keep our metabolism up.
I hope this helps!
Mvalenti95, I'm a body combat addict too! 😁
Exercise helps on so many levels for me personally.
Weight loss was impossible when my hormones were really out of whack. Now that i've been under homeopathic treatment, I've lost 15 lbs without much effort. I certainly hope this continues.
