I have been taking metformin for a year, I have been diagnosed with PCOS for about a year my husband and I are trying to have a baby. Has anyone had any success on Metformin? Are there any tips that anyone can give me?
It did help me. I was hypoglycemic and I felt physically better the day I took it. That month I got pregnant. My theory is that it works for people who are hypoglycemic or diabetic for I have seen others who do not have these symptoms and metformin did not help them. Also, my first two pregnancies happened (I believe) because I was on bcp and went off to get pregnant. Theory there is that my hormones were "normal" still the month or two I was off bcp and was able to get pregnant.
the metformin helps with the insulin resistance but i am not sure about the fertility aspect. I am trying different supplement to help regulate my hormones. one of the web sites i have found that give some good advice is www.sepalika.com/pcos/home-remedies-pcos/ I hope this helps you. I also don't know if your periods are regular but if they are not you might want to try seed cycling more information can be found on https://theherbalacademy.com/seed-cycling-for-h... site.
