Pregnancy
A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

So my body doesn’t tolerate the oral birth control. And my GYN put me on the mirena iud due to it being easier for me to handle after after 4 extremely painful cervical biopsies due to a possible cervical cancer scare. Thank God for it being negative. But what I want to know would it even be possible for me to get pregnant with me having very heavy and abnormal periods? Me and my significant other want to start trying but I don’t want to be put into a depression when it comes back no.

I can only speak on my personal experience, but I was on Mirena for about 2 yrs and also deal with crazy periods (generally very heavy and other times prolonged) when not managed by some sort of birth control or hormone and we have 2 kiddos with one on the way. So I would think it is definitely possible. Each kiddo took a very different amount of time to conceive though.
