Best Diet For PCOS? Vegan/Paleo?
A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

Need suggestions. Do you shock your system or start the diet slowly? Which is better?

I switched to the Paleo diet over a year ago. I had to take it slowly and eliminate one food group at a time or I was never going to be able to stick to it. I started with dairy and then gluten, etc. Usually a month or two between eliminating a food group. I found it much more friendly to deal with and now find it to be a normal part of life.

If your just looking to improve acne my first suggestion would be to eliminate traditional dairy. Replace with a non dairy alternative or jersey cow products - this includes butter. Everyone is different though - that is what worked for me. A true "elimination diet" where you slowly reintroduce things and see what is affecting you most might be what you are looking for.

My apologies, I didn't see anything in your post about acne. I wish you the best of luck, I hope you find something helps :)

I don’t want to diet for weight loss though. This is for acne symptoms. I exercise. That doesn’t help.

I don't think "dieting" really works. I personally use the myfitnesspal app. It uses your personal information (weight, height, etc.) to come up with a personal calorie and exercise goal for you. If you decide to try it out, look me up :)
