I am also on spironolactone with great results in regard to my acne. It's a no pregnancy drug, and also a blood pressure lowering medication so not a good fit if that number is already low for you. But worth an ask to your doctor if it sounds like something that might work for you.

Before spiro I tried everything. Proactive worked for a bit then stopped, Rodan and fields worked for a bit then stopped, cetaphil was nice but didnt really work.

I saw an aesthetician for facials every month and that helped a bit. She told me to ice any large breakout or cystic acne - and that really helps reduce size, redness, and swelling while also promoting healing.

I use Guinot Hydra Tendre for my daily face wash and exfoliate once a week with PCA Skin Gentle Exfoliant. Both are a little on the pricey side but for me I've found them worth it - they last forever.

Thank everyone! I was on spironolactone but stopped taking it because it was making me very sick. I was taking metformin as well, so I think maybe both of them combined is what was making me ill. As of yesterday, I started taking spironolactone since I'm no longer taking metfor. No sickness this morning! Hopefully, it will play out like this for the rest of the way

Before I was diagnosed with PCOS I used this face wash called Aspexia you can buy it at a CVS, Walgreens, etc. It helped me calm down my ache a lot but it does make your skin a little drier because it is so strong. Since being diagnosed I have been prescribed this medication Spironolactone and it has cleared up my face completely. I only get an occasional pimple here and there now. Hope this helps :)
