Your obgyn should recommend other options. I’m taking the hormone progesterone itself and it has helped. But like others have posted, anything artificial is a band-aid. I am trying to use both natural and hormonal, lose weight so I can eventually not use the hormone pill.

yeah, they like to push BC all the time, it seems like the easy solution for doctors, at least with my experience.. I decided not to use BC and I am currently on 1000mg of metformin, been on it for almost 2 mo, and I got my period last month after a whole year, so it seems to be working... good luck!
