Oh, and I guess I did not answer the "why?" portion of your question. LOL! Sorry about that...I used to wonder why I get my period after not getting it for so long. I am NOT an expert but I do read a lot on the subject of PCOS. From what I understand, something has changed to make the conditions right for you to get your period. So it could mean that you may have lost a few pounds, your hormones are balanced, your blood sugars are leveled...etc. And those are all good things resulting in a good thing...your period. I hope all goes well for you. Best of luck!

I went through the same thing for two weeks straight. Now, the past week and a half I've been like a faucet that won't turn off. I suspect that it's because I went so long (4 months) without getting my cycle that now my body is making up for it. Watch out, you may be getting a full period soon, which won't be a bad thing as your body needs to shed the uterine lining before it gets thicker and becomes ground for potential cancer.

What abt having ovarian cyst pain? It usually occurs with ovulation... have you been ovulating at all? What abt your blood estrogen and testerone levels? I think you need to followup with your gyn and get a sonogram on those ovaries of yours and hormonal blood work done. Remember to keep a copy of your results so you can monitor your levels also.
