Should I Start Looking For A New Doctor?
A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

I've seen a lot of women who had doctors monetar them and see how everything is helping/not helping. Mine just put me on Metformin and birth control and said I don't want to see you for another year. I've never had blood work done or anything, I was diagnosed through a transvaginal ultrasound. So I don't know any of my levels or how my medicine is affecting me.

We're I live they don't need bloods to diagnose, either cysts apon scan and symptoms is enough, or even bloods and symptoms is enough to diagnose! Which tbh I think is ridiculous that they can diagnose pcos without a scan to prove there's cysts on ya ovaries but hay ho. TBH Hun if ya not happy with how you've been treated go back and demand bloods! I don't mean it funny but a doctor is there to do what you say so don't go in the beating around the bush say what you want and hopefully they will do. My fiancé says this to me all the time lol, as I don't speak up when seeing my doctor so they never do what I want, now I speak up and they do. Sometimes it's worth a shot, good luck xx

I have pcos and I worked for a Endocrinologist. you should of had blood work b4 you where diagnosed. you can have ovarian cysts with out having PCOS. after being put on a new med you should have a follow up to see how you are feeling with it (especially metformin it can make you feel very sick). a phone call at the very least. hope you feel better

Yes. They need to do a blood panel every year to check all levels including thyroid
