Pcos Without Birth Control
A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

So i got diagnosed with pcos in november i cant take birth control though because it makes my anxiety really bad although my obgyn didnt really care about that. I want to do things naturally i just dont know where to start. Anyone have any tips, what to eat/drink. I exercise at least 4-5 days a week for about 30-40 min. Also any supplements i should know about? I also just started taking probiotics two weeks ago.

I don’t take anything prescribed for my PCOS, birth control and I are not friends to say the least. That being said, aside from diet and excerise, Ovasitol changed my life. Reduced my symptoms, helped regulate my cycle. I seriously cannot recommend it enough!

I try to avoid starchy foods. Potatoes, white bread etc. I also avoid coffe and alcohol. Of course having some wine once in a while ;). A lot more veggies and fruits seem to help. Also take vitamin D as they told me it's low. This is what works for me. Hope it helps.

Im on the same path as you! I truly believe that it can be healed naturally. There are multiple videos on youtube of women explaining their struggle with PCOS and how they relieved their symptoms naturally. Its great that you exercise 4-5 times a week because that plays a very important role in this. My endocronoligst has told me not to eat too many carbs and of course not alot of sugar and carbs. Having a well balanced diet is another important thing. Celery juice is really healthy, it decreases blood pressure and have a ton of other effects. Eat at least 3 meals a day. Eat lots of vegetables. Drink lots of water and not consuming alot of sugar is a must. I eat different beans for my protein, like chick peas and black beans. If you consume dairy it is often effective if you reduce how much you consume in your daily life.

This 30 day challenge doesnt start til May 24 - but check out the facebook page that goes along with it for lots of insights! It helped me build a lot of healthy habits! I dont need to be gluten free, but I do need to minimize dairy. I drink lots of water. Eat moderate carbs and track my calories. Supplements will vary depending on your symptoms. I take fish oil for joint pain and cholesterol. and a vitamin B complex to help with mood. Vitamin D can help with mood - but see if your doc will check this level before starting to supplement as it caused mood swings for me since my levels were actually OK.
