A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

Hi ladies can any doctor prescribe you metformin for PCOS? And can you use it together with clomid? My fertility doctor is away again and can book an appointment till end of dec when im seeing her so wanted to get the ball rolling with another doctor. How do you take metformin is it a constant thing or is it a timed think like clomid ?

Yes you can take both. Your primary doctor can also prescribe them to you also as long as the two docs are insnyced with your medical records and know. Metformin is a constant medication. Some take it once a day or 3 times a day. Usually in the morning with breakfast then at night with dinner. There are some effects to it that you're gonna have kinda get over but you got it.

Hi, I believe you can take both as my doctor wants me to start clomid if I dont get a period in a few days. I already take metformin and you take it everyday. I was previously on it from age 17-29 and thenb stopped because I thought I had my levels under control. I thought wrong as I got back on it in September. If you do start it ask your doctor if you can start out by taking only one pill a day for a week. I didnt listen to mine and did my normal prescription of 2 pills a day and felt ill for 3 days.
