My Dr Tried Metformin And Progesterone And No Period, She Suggests Clomid. Should I Try It?
A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

Me and DH have been trying hard for 8 months now, I've had 2 periods this year, none since may. Our Dr tried to reboot my period hormones with progesterone but that was almost 2 months ago, no period. She had suggested clomid to me at that visit, but I hesitated. Now I'm reading many times over about women with my same issues conceiving on clomid. I'm wondering if it's a good idea just to try it and see what happens. I'll take any advice, I'm so sad thinking I can't bare a child.

Hey there , I've been on clomid for over a year and I haven't had any luck , I was told by first doctor to go on the pill to regulate my periods and by the 3 month stop and take clomid and also take metaformin as well but I had no luck and now I've been on primolut which helps you get a period of you haven't had one for awhile but give it a shot anything could happen for you as each person body's are all different

The best of luck xx

Hey. I was also put on metformin by my gp. After trying to conceive for 8yrs, no period or sign of ovulation for 3yrs & various tests & me losing a stone in weight, my consultant decided to try clomid. Because of other fertility problems & saying i only a 5% chance of ever conceiving, he decided that I could safely have a 6mths cycle of the drug... we fell pregnant after 3 mths :-) I personally would say give it a try & good luck xx

Thank you, and I'd say that most definitely seems like a good idea with that history. That gives me some hope and I'm glad I asked. Sorry for the struggle and all the tears I know you cried, but congrats on your baby!
