What Is The Best Way To Take Metformin?

The directions say to take it with food. Is it better to take pill before you eat, after you eat or while you're eating.

I actually asked my dietician and nurse today about it... they both said that metformin should be taken only after there is some food in the stomach... so after the first couple bites or right after you finish eating.

I always take after food, it took about three weeks for my body to calm down when I first started it but after that, I really didn't feel any major effects regardless of whether id eaten before, after or not at all.

For me, it works best to take my meds after I have some food in my stomache. Otherwise I get dizzy and my stomache hurts so bad.

I usually take it halfway through my meal. I haven't had any symptoms doing it this way.
