Anyone Else Suffer From Hormone Migraines?
A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

So the last year or so I've been experiencing migraines just before my cycle and at end of my cycle. I talked to my doctor about it and she just advised that I go on the birth control pill. Which for me isn't an option since I had awful headaches when on it previously. I've tried taking over the counter pain killers (acetaminophen, ibuprofen, & Naprosy) but they only dull the pain and don't help at all with dizziness, nausea, or sound sensitivity. Has anyone found something that helps?

I get them for between 2 and 5 days every month, right before my period starts. My doctor actually refused to allow me on any pill because headaches are a contraindication. The only thing that helps is ibuprofen, staying hydrated, not getting hungry and trying to sleep as much as possible. I don't know why being hungry makes it worse, but it does. Eat small and often with plenty of fluids and sleep early.
