I used to struggle with anxiety badly. Mood swings can be really bad with PCOS - it's crazy what hormones can make you feel. I've been exercising a lot and it seems to help with anxiety / depression.
I've struggled with anxiety for years. It got considerably better when I cut out caffeine, but when my cycle pushes the hormones more out of balance than they already are the anxiety can become overwhelming.
I have been diagnosed with anxiety. I was also diagnosed with PCOS officially, in 2017. Although my doctor from 10 years ago suggested it, but refused to diagnose. I have heard thru the years that anxiety is linked to PCOS, with the hormonal imbalance and all. Each woman is different, and PCOS is most definitely not a one-size-fits-all type of diagnoses. I was recently prescribed meds for anxiety, and things are better now. If you do have anxiety, I hope that you don't blame yourself, or think anything negative. It was so easy for me to think that anxiety, and PCOS were my fault or my cause because I'm obese. I've spent months and years feeling sad about the entire situation. And the only thing I've learned, is that feeling sorry does nothing. I hope to save you some valuable years in this endeavor. Reach out, find support, cry when you feel the need to. Heck, please reach out to me. It will get better, and things are never as hopeless as one may feel. I hope this helps you, or whoever may be reading. You're not alone. And if you're on this site, you already have so much more knowledge than some of us who waited so long to find answers.
I have depression and anxiety, not sure if its because I have PCOS, buy I do get panic attacks a lot and its horrible. Feeling drained after and having a hard time trying to continue with everyday life is exhausting.
I have suffered with panic attacks since I was about 13 years old...I am just now connecting the dots. I was diagnosed only a week ago and finally things are falling into place. I think that everything is related.
