Sorry A Little TMI. Does Anyone Have Issues With Bowel Problems?
A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

So awkward I know, but I've had bowel problems. Some days are normal, and I will get constipation for a bit and then diarrhea for a few days. Not exactly in this order though. Well for the past week and a half I've had diarrhea and it feels like the toilet paper is made from broken glass. Though it doesn't hurt to make a bowel movement, only when I wipe. I also get a small amount of bleeding. I get cramps. I also get a sharp pain on my upper right side of my abdomen as well as it almost hurts… read more

I totally relate to you, in my case it used to get worst around my menstrual periods, for years I tried to find a solution through my doctor and nothing, since a couple of years ago I got into the alkaline diet (great deal of research before of course) which is based on awesome healthy food, one of the best things I found about it is that my cravings for Sugars have decrease to the point that i no longer struggle with weight issues, now I have a healthy MI, no more cramping and running to the ladies nor constipation and bloating feeling, I hope my experience helps you somehow, best of luck.
Peace

I struggle daily with diarrhea. If I didn't take Imodium and another medication my GI doctor put me on I couldn't leave the house. Just eating anything makes me sick. They are saying IBS. I know it is a common symptom with PCOS. Certain medications made it worse like Metformin that they used for my PCOS. If you are taking medication ask your OBYGN if any of them cause stomach issues. As some one who has suffered with GI problems for more than 10 years, if you are having bad pain and it is new, I would ask if you should see a GI doctor. Just to make sure everything is ok and they may can help you get some relief. I know how painful and frustrating it is. There are a lot of GI problems that cause lots of pain like ulcers, acid reflux, etc. Please let us know how it goes at the doctor. Oh, and when it is time for my period my stomach issues get 100 times worse. Good luck at the Dr.!

Endometriosis can also complicate bowel problems...

I had IBS for years and I finally followed someones advice and cut out Nightshades (tomatoes potatoes and peppers) I am not saying that this is the exact path that you should take, but, consider the advice that seems "too hard" I never could envision a life with out french fries or potato chips...

I have since decided that no french fry is worth the pain of IBS.

PS sounds like you have hemorrhoids. try some OTC cream

I have horrible IBS .... Was diagnosed around 10 years before I was even diagnosed with PCOS, BUT, as it turns out of course- it's also just another one of those horrible underlying symptom/conditions that seems to come with PCOS. Mine is chronic constipation, and at my worst, I can go two weeks without a full bowel movement, which is needless to say, torture. I've been told I do not properly digest my food, and that I hold it all in my upper intestinal tract. This is most likely due to a combination of stress, diet, and enzyme malfunction- although I haven't been to a gastro MD yet. If you are experiencing stress, try to eat clean and use relaxation techniques... See if that helps. I hope you feel better💜
