Hi everyone! It’s apparently very common to be slightly over weight when suffering with PCOS, unfortunately I’ve battled anorexia but I’ve managed to get my weight to 6St12 , I’m 24 and I’m 5Ft4 . I can’t be the only woman with PCOS that’s suffered with GAINING weight, I NEED help and I was wondering what has worked for people to get into a healthy weight range to get their periods back on track and manage to ovulate and hopefully conceive ?? Love to hear from anyone!! Xxxxx
Hi @A myPCOSteam Member - Sorry you are struggling! Although I do not have the same struggles as you - I use myfitnesspal to track my calories. There are settings you can adjust to guide you to GAIN weight at whatever rate you chose, usually .5lb/week or 1lb/week rate of gain. It's a food dairy that guides you to eat the correct amount of calories to reach your goal. It's been a great tool for me. But I understand it may not be ideal for your situation given your battle with anorexia, is food journaling triggering? Best of luck to you!
I agree that with your history of anorexia, traditional methods for managing weight may not be ideal. Have you considered working with a registered dietitian to help?
I hope you are feeling better!!! Best of luck in your journey and don't hesitate to reach out here if you need support! xx
Thankyou everyone for the help. I’ve had a hectic few weeks , suffered with an absces in my vagina and an abscess in my uterus , I couldn’t walk or sit for 2 weeks.
Thankyou , I downloaded MyFitnessPal and hopefully by Oct 31st I will have gained 5lbs!
I’ve never been offered by my drs to go to a dietitian, we just watch my weight a lot and the up my anti depressants if I keep loosing weight or the offer steroids and steroids is a big fat NO no matter how underweight I am.
