The metformin is supposed to lower your insulin levels which in turn helps with the symptoms of PCOS.

My daughter was just diagnosed with PCOS and put on Metformin as well. She only gets her period maybe two or three times a year so tests were run and she was diagnosed as having PCOS. She is seeing an endocrinologist and hopefully she can help get her hormones back in line and she will be able to ovulate and get normal periods. She also suffers from excess hair growth and weight gain, so I hope that improves as well.

I’m on metformin right now as well. The medication should hopefully level out your hormones to help get your period regularly. I have also lost 24 pounds on it since December with diet and exercise.
