A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

Hey, i just tjought Id come here and see if there are any others here having issues with breathing normal through their nose? I went to see an ENT and was told i have a deviated septum and swollen (i think thats the word he said) turbinates. As ive been trying to search more into this i saw somewhere it said swolleb turbinates can be caused by hormal issues. So bow im thibkibg i wonder if this has anything to do woth PCOS?

I always have nose problems I used to get nose bleeds as a kid but now I have trouble breathing through my nose one side seems to be worse like a deviated septum. If ifs not stuffy its running I always assumed it was allergies

I know that snoring and sleep apnea are often associated with pcos. I dont know that it would cause or be related to a deviated septum (but I am no doctor and pcos does have a lot of related issues) - however I would definitely say it can have a connection or vice versa - your breathing issues could possibly exacerbate other pcos symptoms.

I was told by another doctor that allergies cause the Stuffy congestion. Correcting a deviated septum will bot alleviate your allergies. I get my surgery in two weeks. I look forward to being able to breath through my nose and not snore lol.
