No Period For 7 Months
A myPCOSteam Member asked a question đź’

Hi. I am writing to ask you what you think about this situation. My daughter is 22 and used to get her period, but was irregular. All of a sudden she stopped getting it for months, was on birth control but hated the side effects so I took her to an endocrinologist who felt she had PCOS based on all the blood workup that was done. She put her on Metformin and my daughter started to get her period again but then it stopped. Right now her metabolism is good, her testosterone levels are good… read more

I can't explain acupuncture and how it works, but I can say that it works. I was taking the medroxyprogesterone every 3 months to make my period start. It just so happened that i started my very first acupuncture treatment on the last day of my cycle. Went weekly and my cycle started the exact day that it was supposed to for the first time in my life at 29. As long as i went it was regular

Thank you for the information. My daughter initially did have a sonogram but no cysts were found. Now we are not even sure if she really has PCOS or something kind of other problem causing her periods to stop completely. It could be a pituitary issue or something with the thyroid. Still searching for answers since this is not a clear cut case of PCOS. After your surgery is your endometriosis now gone? Are your periods normal again? So do you have PCOS or were your problems now resolved. I hope you are now problem free.

Maybe ask if an ultrasound is needed and maybe ask about endometriosis too. I had a similar situation. Diagnosed PCOS. It wasn’t put on metformin. My cycles kept coming less and less and then stopped. For awhile they woulda do progesterone like you mentioned to jump start bleeding. I assumed it was from the PCOS. I had an ultrasound which showed complex cysts and after a few months of trying medication they would not shrink so I had them surgically removed (one of them, the other they coulda only drain without causing damage to me ovaries) but the bigger thing was during surgery they diagnosed and removed stage 4 endometriosis which my dr had suspected but I was so busy worrying about the PCOS I hadn’t given it much though. Turned out the endo had formed around my ovaries and literally had them stuck to my uterus and unable to function which was why I had stopped cycling. Prayers it’s not the same for your daughter but just thought I’d share my experience.

No doctor has mentioned acupuncture to us. I am not sure I understand his this can help get your period and keep it regular If the problem is hormonal. I believe it has helped some of you but just don’t get how? Anyway, thanks for the advise. I guess we will see what happens with the progesterone but so far after a few days there is nothing.

Acupuncture is currently helping new. It took going 5 weeks straight for me to now have pms symptom. It may take her longer, but i hadn't had a cycle un almost 4 months.
With the medroxyprogesterone, after you finish the pills. I want to say it always took 2weeks for my cycle to come.

When i took the pills to start my cycle, it didn't flow like normal... it was always lighter than usual and i was asshole'ish 🤷🏾‍♀️
With the acupuncture the flow was heavier, but my normal heavy like when my cycle started on its own. After the AcuCycles I feel good, clean, light and balanced. Idk how to explain it, but i always feel really good.
