I'll spare too much detail but after following a strict diet, taking multiple supplements etc. I managed to get my body regularly ovulating (if anyone wants more detail on lifestyle changes I made do get in touch).
Last month we tried for a baby through artificial insemination. I experienced what I think was ovulary bleeding so I'm fairly confident I ovulated and then roughly 1 week after ovulation I experienced nausea and cramps which I suspected to be related to implantation. I then took 3… read more
Heya, so I bought this book 8 steps to reverse your PCOS by Fiona McCulloch which gave me a lot of the tips I followed.
For me, the main things were diet and exercise. I adopted the paleo diet and followed it strictly, cut out alcohol, reduced starchy carbs like white potato which I cut out for the first month.
I stopped high intensity exercise (before I was running 10k/day or practicing intense yoga daily), ate regular meals, focusing on lean protein e.g. eggs, chicken..
I went 100% organic in what I ate but also anything I put on my skin or in the air around me e.g. candles, diffusers, is non- toxic, 100% natural. Threw out all my old non stick pans, plastic containers etc. Which contain toxins and BPA. I replaced them with glass containers and cast iron and stainless steel pans.
I have 2 cups spearmint tea a day, cinnamon tea when I feel like it. I take myo and d chiro inositol (40:1 ratio), calcium, vit d, omega 3, pre- natal vitamins, NAC and ubiquinol supplements.
Sounds like a lot but strangely it’s easier to enforce with covid restrictions.
It took 1 month of all of the above being enforced for me to get my first normal period and I have so much more energy.
What works for one person may be different for what works for another but lmk if you have any questions, I wish you all the best with it! X
I experienced similiar symptoms before i found out i was pregnant. My period was due to arrive and was 8 days late. I took 4 pregnancy that were expired and all came positive. I also took ovulation test strips, and never saw a positive ovulation test strip until that day. Next day I went to walgreens and paid $20 for that digital pregnancy test and it said pregnant.
Like yourself, I made lifestyle changes to combat mistly discomfort from PCOS, i gave up having children. My daughter was not planned as Drs said it was not possible naturally as I'm 40 years old qnd had like .05% chance to happen natural, and she happened naturally. It could have been the lifestyle changes I started 5 years ago.
Maybe give it a few more days and try another pregnancy test. Then let us know :)
Hi! I would love to hear more about what lifestyle changes you made!
