Everything starts in the gut but also the mind, so I believe that mental stress especially chronic mental stress does play a big factor for PCOS.

Hormones are directly coralated to our sanity. Progesterone is the happy hormone and I never felt better mentally than when I found a Dr to treat my hormones individually instead of with birth control. Taking just progesterone made a huge difference with my depression. But it is not only your progesterone that can cause depression any imbalance in the thyroid, estrogen, cortisol and testosterone can cause depression too. Starting with progesterone though is best it balances out some of the other hormones naturally just by raising your levels.

You mean stress makes pcos worse? I think so yes, so does my dietitian.

Yes, PCOS and metal health are connected. The extra stress from dealing with the complications of PCOS can lead to depression and anxiety. Keeping track of your moods and getting the help of a therapist will help a lot.
