A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

I have been suffering with pelvic pain a lot, nausea, heartburn, everything.. & the doctors dont know why. Ive been doing a lot of research on my own and then being it up to the doctors so they can do testing.. does anyone have both pcos & endo? What are your symptoms? & what helps relieve the pain? & was anyone able to concieve naturally or with help?

It's common unfortunately. And endo is nor easy to diagnose either, but you could ask for antibodies tests to check for autoimmune conditions (ANA and TPO for thyroid antibodies -Hashimoto's thyroiditis also being common wirh PCOS :-()

I was just diagnosed with PCOS so i may not be the best one to answer but i also have been having these exact issues. I was told the nausea was from the pelvic pain? I found this podcast that talks about having both PCOS and Endometriosis. Maybe it can help? Hope you start to feel better soon!

Ugh! We need more readily accessible medical records!

I did. I got tested by a rheumatologist in 2013, my ANA was positive but he noted I had no autoimmune disorders.
I didn't find out until 2017 that it was caused due to having a high level of thyroid globin antibodies, which was causing a large mass to continue to grow in half of my thyroid. After I had half my thyroid removed my ana went back to normal. Funny how the endocrinologist, I saw before the rheumatologist, assured me he ran every test in the book, but when I was recently looking over my medical files in preparation to file disability, I found out that he did not exactly do as he claimed. The rheumatologist mentioned it in his notes but nothing was ever done with it, and I was unaware of what the notes said and the test.

@ Erin, I'm curious if you've ever been tested for autoimmune antibodies!
