Is It Normal To Not Be Able To Sleep When Your Hormones Are All Over The Place?
A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

I was sleeping really good until Saturday night and last night, I haven’t changed up my routine in any way, I listen to something positive before I go to sleep, I’ve tried meditation but nothing has worked and I can barely function during the day.

I also have tons of trouble sleeping…I don’t have sleep apnea but I almost always have had trouble sleeping ever since I got my first period and it seems to be very sporadic that I’ll get a good night sleep. I take melatonin extended release (10mg) and cbd/cbn capsules every night (carolindica brand makes the best sleep capsules by far in my opinion! They are called Mr. Sandman Sleep Capsules-highly recommend if you’re going to try a cbd supplement at night, I’ve found a lot dont do anything at all…) for me, sometimes it helps, but sometimes my hormones are so strong that it doesn’t :/ I used to be on sleep medications for many years but stopped taking those cause I’m trying to figure out a natural solution(plus sleep meds didn’t even work that well anyways…)if you find something else that works for you I’d love to know!

I frequently have insomnia issues. Either can't get to sleep or stay asleep. Sometimes It's accompanied by vivid nightmares. I take trazodone to help when it gets to be a multiple-day type problem, but it doesn't always knock me out, unfortunately. I have tried CBD gummies and it does seem to help.
