Hmm I had a friend that underwent ablation because she had very painful periods with lots of bleeding as well as other hormone issues (surprisingly she didn’t have pcos or endometriosis but she always struggled when she got her period a lot!). The ablation did seem to help her for many years in stopping her periods/pain with them But as she got older she ended up doing the bioidentical “pellet” hormone treatment since she’s in her late 40s/50s and was having symptoms of low hormones/menopause and that seems to be working pretty well for her now! From what I’ve heard an ablation could help with bleeding pain you get from periods (and maybe if that bleeding pain is related to your pcos it could help? Cause I know some women with pcos do get very painful periods) but I’m not so sure about the pain from cysts, etc…sorry if this answer wasn’t helpful haha…just thought I’d share in case it might be idk…but I hope you feel better soon and find something that works!! 🫶

Oh, interesting, about the ablation. My periods tapered off in my 30s, a little spotting every 11 days or so, and it was done. If that was menopause, it was pretty strange. No hot flashes or anything. I thought it was great, except I wasn't yet been diagnosed and didn't know that was connected to my other, awful symptoms of PCOS, like acne, anxiety, and insomnia. I've been free of periods for 30+ years. (Yay!) I had ovarian cysts (as seen by ultrasound) but no pain. So sorry about your pain! That's hard to live with.

Sorry Casey5. I sometimes forget to add either vag or endometrial in front of the word ablation. Basically they go in and cauterize the endometrial layer of the uterus so no more periods. Which is fine, but doesnt address the bigger problem of cysts and pain. :(

I'm not familiar with ablation and had to look it up. But it only talked about a heart procedure.
