Any Advise For Subduing Or Getting Rid Of Hirsutism?
A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

My hormones are balanced but I still deal with hirsutism on a daily basis. So much so that I shave (my face) every day, if not twice a day.

No Periods
A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

Anyone else NEVER get a period?

I only do when I take Provera.

I have already tried Metformin, Vitex, weight loss, exercise, clean eating. Still have never had a cycle on my own.

I just started taking inositol, so I'll give that a shot for a few months to see if that helps at all. Any other ideas? Is there anything you have been able to do to naturally get a period?

Abnormal Bleeding !
A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

Hello Everyone!

Has anyone else experienced prolonged bleeding while having PCOS?? I’ve had this “period” since December 2017 and was recently put on birth control to stop the bleeding due to becoming anemic. I’ve had a Pap smear and it came back “normal”. Is there something out there (besides birth control) I can take to stop this issue?

Thank you,
Monica

New Diagnosis N Needing Help With Weight Loss N Eating Advice
A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

So I was just diagnosed with PCOS on my birthday March 30th. Today I had my follow up appointment and was basically told I'm fat and need to loose weight. I haven't been given any medication to help with my symptoms and was referred to a specialist. I have always struggled with diets and exercising. Has anyone found something they liked to help them lose weight that might help me?

I started Keto 4 months ago, which I have modified a bit, but still eat low carb and high protein/fat. Also very low sugar items. I’ve lost 30 lbs in the last 4 months 😁.

Does Anyone Recommend Metformin For PCOS?
A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

My older sister also has PCOS and has been taking Metformin. She says it works and has been helping her with symptoms including losing weight. Any more recommendations? Tips/advice? Other alternatives?

I’ve been on it for about a year now. I’ve lost a lot of inches but not pounds according to the scale. It’s been well worth it.

I Feel So Alone
A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

I feel so alone. No-one I know has PCOS and my doctors are useless
I was diagnosed in April 2015 and was given very little information about it and was told to lose weight to manage it, I've done various different diets/ life style changes and nothing ever happens, I lose a bit and then gain it back again. I've seen a dietitian and she's looked through a food diary and asked me how I cook my food and she can't see anything wrong with the way I eat. I walk a lot of places, I love walks, but… read more
