I have been diagnosed with PCOS for almost a year and ever since iv been experiencing a different body odor that makes it difficult for me to go to the gym, be intimate and just be comfortable. Has anyone else been through this and is there anything that can help?

Hi! I’ve been taking metformin (and a whole host of vitamins suggested by my OBGYN) for a couple of months now. I have also done a gradual but now complete overhaul on my diet within the last 3-4 months. I’ve reduced my sugar (especially added) and simple carb intake, been avoiding inflammatory foods, and have been drinking between 1/2-1 gallon of water daily. I’ve been eating mindfully and exercising somewhat regularly for fun and to relieve stress. I haven’t been watching the numbers too much… read more
Hi! Thank you so much for sharing! That's really good to know. And I can definitely relate on the depression/potential ADHD level. Wishing the best for you!
I learned recently that long term metformin use is connected with vitamin B deficiency.
My doctor never told me about it, of course. A dietician I am working with told me. I was dealing with excessive fatigue and she made the connection it could be a vitamin b deficiency related to my 10-yr long metformin use.
I take a b-complex vitamin to get the right mix. I do think it has helped my energy levels.
Wanted to share in case this helps anyone on the forum here. ❤️

UPDATE: I had a follow up with my fertility specialist and he said its not uncommon for HSGs to give a false positive because you can clench up and when you do it closes off the tubes. He’s pretty confident that my infertility is still soley caused by my PCOS related ovultion issues. We get to try hormonal therapy and if that doesnt work after 2-3 cycles then he will take the HSG more seriously and we can do more expensive and evasive diagnostics for my tubes. Feels like a win!
