Anyone Have Any Weight Loss Success With Metformin, Or Find Weight Loss A Little Easier?
A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

Hi! I’ve been taking metformin (and a whole host of vitamins suggested by my OBGYN) for a couple of months now. I have also done a gradual but now complete overhaul on my diet within the last 3-4 months. I’ve reduced my sugar (especially added) and simple carb intake, been avoiding inflammatory foods, and have been drinking between 1/2-1 gallon of water daily. I’ve been eating mindfully and exercising somewhat regularly for fun and to relieve stress. I haven’t been watching the numbers too much… read more

Metformin And Vitamin B Deficiency
A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

I learned recently that long term metformin use is connected with vitamin B deficiency.

My doctor never told me about it, of course. A dietician I am working with told me. I was dealing with excessive fatigue and she made the connection it could be a vitamin b deficiency related to my 10-yr long metformin use.

I take a b-complex vitamin to get the right mix. I do think it has helped my energy levels.

Wanted to share in case this helps anyone on the forum here. ❤️

A myPCOSteam Member

Women with PCOS have a Vitamin D deficiency not from metformin use. I was prescibed vitamin D even before metformin. Unless theres a link my doctor didnt mention… I know I dont get enough sun thpugh.

Bad HSG Results
A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

UPDATE: I had a follow up with my fertility specialist and he said its not uncommon for HSGs to give a false positive because you can clench up and when you do it closes off the tubes. He’s pretty confident that my infertility is still soley caused by my PCOS related ovultion issues. We get to try hormonal therapy and if that doesnt work after 2-3 cycles then he will take the HSG more seriously and we can do more expensive and evasive diagnostics for my tubes. Feels like a win!

Is getting the… read more
