Dr. Hurd currently teaches endocrinology at Xavier University in Cincinnati. It’s an elective course on the principle of bioregulators — including hormones, neuropeptides, and cytokines — which play a key role in both normal physiology and disease. Dr. Hurd trained as a postgraduate fellow in endocrinology and metabolism at UCLA and has also worked as both a clinician and a researcher at Saint Louis University School of Medicine and the Cincinnati VA Medical Center. As a member of the Xavier Jesuit community, Dr. Hurd also teaches a course in bioethics with the philosophy department and the ethics/religion and society program.
