I have been diagnosed with PCOS for over a decade now and the only treatment my doctors have tried to put me on has been the pill and it doesnt really accomplish anything other than regulating my period. I think its time I find an actual doctor that specializes or is more familiar with PCOS. Any suggestions?
Metoformin has helped me a lot with my PCOS.
Suggest to your doctor getting a referral to an Endocrinologist. They specialize in hormone imbalances associated to pcos, also an obgyn. Obgyn knows more about the reproduction system. If there are any hormone imbalances you may have due to pcos that specialist will know what to look for and the better treatment plan that may fit you. At least in all the research I've done. It always led me back to this specialist. An Obgyn would understand pcos more than a regular doctor.
I probably should have said too. That doctors have done the same to me, they just put me on birth control when ever I have complications. I've never taken anything else. I understand it can be frustrating. It always feels like there has to be more that can be done to help and I understand that feeling too. I hope that you'll keep us posted on your journey through this. :)
Thank you
