PCOS And Tubal Ligation?
I am currently 23 years old and I have been diagnosed with PCOS since I was 14 (9 years ago) I have thought long and hard about this and I have come to the decision that I do not want kids. I am also with someone (in a relationship) who also does not want kids. I have been researching about tubal ligation but I can't find anything on how it would affect my PCOS. would it even change anything with my PCOS? would I still have to take birth control for my PCOS? or would another option be more… read more
Well, I thought I didn't want kids so I got a tubal at 21 and was diagnosed with PCOS at 25. For me tubal didnt change my symptoms. My husband and myself thought we didn't want kids and now that's all we talk about. I'm getting a reversal and ovarian drilling next year. It's a long shot that I'll get pregnant but I have to try. I never thought I would change my mind but I did.
My husband and I don't want kids. I use have the copper IUD (paragard), it is incredibly effective at preventing pregnancy. Some women have painful periods that are longer with it, I have found that since losing a lot of weight, my periods are shorter and lighter. Only a few times are they heavy. Only painful one or two days, for which I pop an ibuprofen on those days. I have thought about sterilization as well but decided to stick with the paragard to avoid surgery. Also Paragard is non-hormonal so I guess it depends on if your doctor thinks you need hormones to control your PCOS.
