It happens.. sometimes the periods are light spots, other times it'll be a flood of blood. Keep your healthcare provider in the loop!

I was previously on 10 mg of oral progestin and it stopped my periods completely, I was in a pregnancy state at ages 12-14 but the goal was to stop my menstrual bc I have a bleeding disorder that was making me hemorrhage so I don't think my situation is a good example. I am now on the mirena IUD and I have rare spotting, I think depending on the type of BC you are on has an impact.

When I was on birth control, I would often skip period. I talked to my gyn about it and she said that it was okay, as long as I continued to have at least 4 per year. Now, I'm learning that it probably has something to do with the thickness of my uterine lining and how quickly it builds.
