Eating Disorder Relationship With PCOS
A myPCOSteam Member asked a question šŸ’

When I first was diagnosed with PCOS I was already struggling with an eating disorder from being in modeling. I now have no appetite ever it feels like and I can go days without thinking about or wanting food. When I do eat I get super nauseous. I guess what Iā€™m wondering is does anyone else feel this way and how do they combat it?

If haven't already done so, I would also recommend that you ask you doctor for a referral for an ultrasound to make sure there is not growth on your ovaries.

Im so sorry to hear you have been struggling with both. It's interesting to hear both because I wondered if my intermittent fasting, which also includes one day of not eating contributed to my PCOS. I read an evidence based article that when you put your body goes through that kind of stress(food) depriving your body from food it throws your hormones off. After reading that, I started to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner again just smaller meals. I am taking metformin now, Im not overweight or insilun resistant. The medication helps my periods and severe hair loss that I am having. Im wondering if you nauseas has to do with A your body is not used to consuming food and it will take some time or B. Your hormones. When a women is pregnant, they say nausea comes from the hormones changing in your body. That's what my doctor told me anyways.
