Hi, my name is Katana Tharpe, and I have suffered from PCOS for about a decade now. I have tried everything to find relief in symptoms, specifically those related to inflammation, insulin resistance and weight gain. For years I micromanaged every single calorie that went in my mouth vs calorie output during the day, and it took six years to see any kind of results, which I am still grateful for. It taught me the proper way to eat and take care of my body physically.

I started a medication called Mounjaro a Tirzepatide injection made by Lilly, which was covered last year on my insurance making it an affordable 50 dollars for a 3 months supply of medication. This year my insurance has stopped covering it, as my need for treatment is considered an off label treatment and it is now a whopping 1200 a month before any sought out couon code. I know of thousands and thousands of women who use this medication, along with Zepbound, Ozempic, and Weygovy to successfully reverse the effects of their insulin resistance, and lose a ton of weight that they never have been able to. These have been a complete game changer for all ladies with PCOS, one of the only true, viable, working, and scientifically proven effective treatments for us, and it has been taken away from us from lack of FDA approval.

I have two petitions I've started change. org. They are to urge Lilly and Novo Nordisk, the creators of these medications to condut necessary studies and trials in order to get an FDA approval for these medications treating PCOS. The other petition is to mandate insurance coverage for these medications for treating PCOS so women who need this can access it in affordable prices, and manage their insulin resistance, and a healthy weight to better effect other symptoms.

This would benefit literally every woman suffering from the horrible symptoms we all have to battle.
1 in 10 women have PCOS.
PLEASE sign these Petitions to help millions of women, just like us get life changing medications we all deserve. This is a proven, viable treatment, with tons of literature behind it.

Here are the petition links:

Yes you are correct semaglutide is a game changer for PCOS but it's not FDA approved for PCOS. The cost is 1200 to 1500 per month. I am in the appeal process trying to get my insurance to cover it. I had two doctors to prescribed it but insurance keeps denying.
