Hi ladies, I went to the loo before I got in the shower and when I wiped I discovered that my periods have started. They're light at the moment but they are also very unpredictable as we all know
The only thing is my doctors surgery is open today, but for pre-booked appointments only, so I don't think there's a receptionist in the surgery. I think that’s similar to what they said would happen to me too, so they advised against it too. Glad you got rebooked though, do you suffer with prolonged periods at all? Are they quite regular? I’m still waiting for a natural period to arrive, haven’t had one for a year now, i’ve had to have medication to stop spotting which then make you bleed like a period afterwards. So annoying! x

I spoke to the nurse earlier and she said that I could still have mine done if I wanted to, but she would advise me not to as it could contaminate the sample as there would be too much blood and make it harder for them to get an accurate view when looking through the microscope, so I've rebooked it for next month.

It might depend on the GP surgery as i know mine won’t do them if you’re bleeding, but they might still do it so if you can’t get in touch with them, i would still go :). Hopefully they can!
