I just got diagnosed with pcos 3 days ago, I knew something wasn't right for years but every doctor told me it "sounds like a hormone imbalance" and put me on birth control but when I'd stop taking it my periods would disappear again. I'm on provera for 10 days and metformin, I start birth control the Sunday after the provera jumpstarts my period and I also found out I have a bicornuate uterus… read more
I only recently learned that my PCOS puts me at risk for diabetes, despite my daily exercise and healthy diet with no sugar and low carbs. My blood sugar was creeping into the pre-diabetes range, which freaked me out. So I started a new technique -- exercising right after each meal. Nothing hard, just a brisk walk through the house for 20 minutes while listening to videos. I do that after each meal, 3 times per day, which adds to one hour per day. And 3 days a week, I also do strengthening exercises. Also, I drink a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar diluted in a glass of water half an hour before my lunch. Something must be working, as my glucose is now in the normal range. So far so good! Hope that helps.
Hi :) things like diet, exercise and stress management can affect insulin resistance and pcos symptoms. To improve insulin resistance, eat less sugary and processed foods, do strength/resistance training (the more muscle you have the more your body will be able to control your blood sugar levels), make time to relax and do things you enjoy :) hope your ultrasound goes ok
