My hairs been thinning out for so long and its one of my biggest insecurities. I hate seeing scalp when I'm brushing my hair.

I need recommendations on shampoo, conditioner, and even overnight treatments. I currently use rosemary oil.

Ideally easily purchased in the UK!

What hair products have helped with PCOS-related hair thinning?

It's completely understandable to feel insecure about hair loss - many myPCOSteam members share this struggle. The good news is you're already using rosemary oil, which research shows can be as effective as Rogaine for hair loss!

Here are products other members have found helpful:

Shampoos:
- Rogaine shampoo
- Nioxin
- Monat (one member saw new growth and less dryness)

Oils for overnight treatments:
- Castor oil (members report seeing thicker hair with daily use on thinning areas)
- Rice bran oil (research shows it's as effective as 3% Rogaine)
- Coconut oil (applied to roots for 30 minutes)

Other approaches:
- Egg white treatments under a plastic cap for an hour (the protein strengthens hair)
- Apple cider vinegar rinses

Keep in mind that hair regrowth takes time - some members report needing several weeks to months to see results. If you're not seeing improvement with topical products, it's worth speaking with your doctor about medical treatments like Rogaine (minoxidil), which is FDA-approved for female pattern hair loss, or medications that address the hormonal aspects of PCOS-related hair thinning.
