For me personally, I enjoy the new name but I completely understand the reactions of those who don’t and aligned better with the former name. I have all of the hallmark symptoms of PMOS, so PCOS felt a little underwhelming to me even though I did have polycystic ovaries. Most of my issues are coming from hormonal imbalances and metabolic dysfunction which I feel better represented by with PMOS. I’ve read on reactions of other people who dislike it, and I get it, so I wonder if the names could be used interchangeably?

I bet they will be now. I think PMOS feels more inclusive to those who experience the syndrome but not the cystic aspect of it - but PCOS is a trademark name and I respect it is apart of peoples identity.
