I’ve Found Out That I’m 4-5 Weeks Pregnant. I’m On Metformin And Managed To Lose 6.4kg During This Pregnancy.. Should I Be Worried?

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

I will talk to my doctor about this next week but from experience.. is this a good sign or a bad sign?

A myPCOSteam Member

That's something your dr will answer. Metformin does help with weight loss.

Birth Control And Missed Periods

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

I was put on BC to help with my PCOS. My last two “periods” were really just spotting. This one has been three days of medium to light bleeding. Has this happened to anyone else of birth control? I take my sugar pill week, usually take them at the same time everyday.

I was previously on 10 mg of oral progestin and it stopped my periods completely, I was in a pregnancy state at ages 12-14 but the goal was to stop my menstrual bc I have a bleeding disorder that was… read more

Is This Considered Mood Swings? I Do Not Want To Do Something, Then Just A While Later I Can Do It With No Problems.

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

I had to make lunch today, I did not do it right away. Then I just sat down and browsed my phone and I felt like “oh, I can do it” as if it was so easy and I prepared it. Then again, I was lying around not wanting to do anything then I felt that I can go and serve lunch (for family) and I did it. Then I lied down again not wanting to do anything. Its like grumpy-happy cycle or something

Acid Reflux

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

Do any of you ladies deal with random bouts of acid reflux? I havent had any issues for a while...but this past week its been horrible and its causing a horrible tickle in my throat (which is not nice to have during these times). Any suggestions on how to calm it down so i dont have everyone thinking im a covid case?

Im drinking baking soda in water, its helping but wow is it awful

I know that dairy isn't great for us with PCOS but maybe you can try a glass of milk or maybe something without a lactose base like almond milk to help coat your throat

Do You Get Severe Mood Swings And Some Depression Without Getting Period Every Month?

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

I feel like my body is trying to get a period as I feel very strange mood swings and cravings but then nothing happens? Have you guys called the doctor to get that pill to make you get a period? I dont know if this helps with the mood stuff? I just recently got off birth control after 13 years and haven't got a period yet it has been 5 months. Just dont want to feel angry or go into a bad depression which I can be prone too. I know hormonal issues can create these awful feelingsm

There's a link between imbalanced hormones and mood issues. I didn't have my period for 9 months one time, I was suicidal in all that time. If birth control suits you, ask your dr to get you started… read more

Thought On Spironolactone For Facial Hair?

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

Did anyone try taking spironolactone to treat excess hair growth?

A myPCOSteam Member

I've been on it since 2014. Initially I did feel a lot of side effects, especially dehydration since it's a water pill. I do find it to be very effective. I take it every night and I'm used to now… read more

Has Anyone Got Any Advice On How To Reduce Stomach Bloating When Starting Metformin.

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

I've recently re started metformin and I'm having some difficult side effects. The major one is stomach bloating. When I go to bed at night my stomach is rock hard, painful and I look about 7 months pregnant. I'm eating low GI and given up dairy. It's keeping me up into the early hours of the morning. Has anyone else had this? Does it go away and does anyone know how I might stop manage it.

A myPCOSteam Member

I had mine switched to the extended release. It helped so much. When it was switched they also lowered my dose and I don't have nearly as many issues. I have IBS and Celiac so I thought that it would… read more

Who Else Has PCOS D With No Insulin Resistance?

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

I was diagnosed with PCOS type A in Jan 2024 but after redoing labs in May, I have no insulin issues. I never have in the past either and I've had labs done consistently over the last couple of years. I have cysts in my ovary (I only have one). We have been trying to get pregnant for 2 years. We got pregnant once (Oct 23) but it was an ectopic. Other than tha5, no pregnancies. I am trying to find out what people with this type are doing. There's limited information available online for treatment… read more

Me too! My biggest symptom is honestly the cysts on my ovaries and then I deal with a lot of GI issues (I think some related to pcos some not?) so my doctor I also did the Genova GI test in addition… read more

What Was Your Experience With Cognitive Decline And Brain Fog?

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

Did you experience it?
How bad was it?
Did it affect your daily life?
How do you know it was because of your PCOS?
Did it get better with treatment?
And to what extent did it get better?

A myPCOSteam Member
