Alone...

Alone...

Is it just me or does having PCOS make you feel like you're not a good enough person. My doctor seems to think it's so easy to lose weight and all is forgiven, but so much comes with being diagnosed. I was diagnosed in 2018 after trying to conceive, hypothyroidism right after that diagnosis, then I live and breathe dandruff, dry skin and facial hair. As if having low self esteem wasn't enough now I look in the mirror and see a disgusting person! I feel so alone dealing with this diagnosis… read more

Any alternative ways other than shaving to remove facial/chin hair?

Any alternative ways other than shaving to remove facial/chin hair?

I have very course hair on my chin and neck area. It is light in color but I am self conscious about it. It grows back very quickly so I end up shaving everyday. However lately it has caused razor bumps/burn from doing it so frequently and for so long. I now have to shave and use makeup to cover the bumps and redness. I also can not use products like nair. I have sensitive skin and it burns when I apply it.

Gum infection

Gum infection

Hello!

Since I was 16 years the doctors told me that I had PCOS and I have still the normal symptoms: hirsurtism, acne, oil skin...but I follow a healthy diet and my weight is normal. Since July I have gingivitis and I was visiting different dentists, but finally I couldn't solve the problem. Do you know if there is a relation between the PCOS and the gum infections? Or maybe is it because I take the birth control pill as a treatment?

Thank you in advance!

Does gastric bypass help with hormone imbalance?

Does gastric bypass help with hormone imbalance?

I’ve been talking to my doctor about how I haven’t gotten my period since April of 2017 & he’s been telling me that all these symptoms that I’ve been dealing with are all due to my hormones being imbalanced & that most of my current health issues could possibly be reversed if I lost weight. The more I do to try & lose weight, the more weight I actually end up gaining & it’s frustrating. Especially when I’m putting in all the work & energy &… read more

Any advice on dealing with dark underarms?

I've always be self conscious of my dark underarms. I wax them which helps with the darkness a little bit but not enough for me to feel completely comfortable wearing anything sleeveless. Any advice on how to lighten them? (preferably naturally)

How to deal with hurtful remarks about facial hair from friends/coworkers?

How to deal with hurtful remarks about facial hair from friends/coworkers?

Recently saw open email on work computer between my male bff and a close female friend. Childhood lifelong friends. And it was from a few years ago when one was mad about something insignificant. He asked her if my 'stache had grown out and she said I had full on beard and sent pic and he said I had more of a beard than he did and he was "rofl". It isn't that extreme but it HURT. Idk that I'll ever feel the same about him and he's… read more
