Why, in this modern age, is there no cure for PCOS?

Why do some women have this problem? Are women not valued enough, still, for this problem to get medical focus in our society?

I just don't get how you can have such a problem and for there to be nothing to be done about it. No, I just don't get it at all.

How do you know what type of PCOS you have?

I just created my profile and it asked what type of PCOS I have. I didn't realize there is different types. My doctor didn’t tell me that. I feel so lost about this. I been trying to do different research to figure out what I can do to help reduce the symptoms of PCOS.

Letting boyfriend in on the secret

I have been diagnosed PCOS for almost 6 years. Since then I have had severe, dark and coarse hair pretty much all over me that I can never really deal with. I also have to shave my face every day, sometimes a couple times a day. I’m terrified that my boyfriend will not find me attractive anymore and leave me due to this side effect of the disease. How did you let your significant others in on it? Any tips on how to handle this problem?

Anyone using Metformin? How has your experience been? Any advice?

My husband and I have been trying for almost 3 years with no luck. My last OBGYN had done nothing. When I complained of having 2 periods in 12 months nothing. Never talked to me about how dangerous that can be. All she ever did was yell at me for being overweight but did nothing to help me. I recently decided to switch doctors. The new one seems to have a great plan for helping us get pregnant. She started me on metformin to help regulate. She said… read more

Has anyone tried Saxenda?

My Dr would like me to try Saxenda on a low dose and has arranged for me to try a sample. She said it is for weightloss and will definitely help me lose weight and help with sugar cravings as it changes and corrects your metabolism.

She has tried it herself and lost weight while on it. She’s given me some pamphlets to read but I’m wondering if anyone else has tried it?

I don’t have a huge amount to lose (around 5-10kgs) but it won’t shift, no matter what I do. When I didn’t carry this… read more

Metformin/Clomid/Letrozole + TTC

Hi all, my doctor told me to do research on the meds listed ^^ above. I was just curious if anyone has tried any of these singularly, or combined while TTC? My husband and I are trying naturally for the next three months before meeting with my OB to develop a medical plan to help us conceive. These were the only three she mentioned. So I am open to other suggestions, but these are the primary ones I'm looking at right now.
