Hair Loss/thinning

Hair Loss/thinning

Hi, im new here and was really hoping to get some advice. Ive been diagnosed but waiting to go to a different doctor so my PCOS is untreated at the moment. Ive seen that hair loss is a symptom. I had every other symptom for a while now but no hair loss. Then seemingly overnight half my hair was gone 😔. I noticed a lot of thinning in the back especially when my hair is wet. Now though im seeing bald patches in the front. I was afraid if i didnt do anything i’d lose all my hair before i even got… read more

Metformin Cause Hair Loss?

Metformin Cause Hair Loss?

I started metformin two months ago. Since then, I've lost a lot of hair and have gained a sizeable bald spot on the back of my head.

Never had it before. Never had hair loss before. This is the only thing that's changed.

Anyone else experience hair loss on metformin?

Had Anyone Tried PRP For PCOS Hair Loss?

Had Anyone Tried PRP For PCOS Hair Loss?

I have seen a doctor who performs PRP (platelet rich plasma) for hair loss and asked if it would work for me since my hair loss I think is mostly due to my PCOS. She told me that I would be a good candidate for PRP. I would require a few treatments with continued maintenance. She also mentioned that i have probably lost above 50% of my hair at this point. The treatment/procedure is costly and have been on meds for PCOS (metformin, victors) for over 9 months and no hair regrowth. I am so very… read more

Any Advise For Subduing Or Getting Rid Of Hirsutism?

My hormones are balanced but I still deal with hirsutism on a daily basis. So much so that I shave (my face) every day, if not twice a day.

Hair Growth

Hair Growth

I know this is something many women experience with having PCOS. I've experienced it for years now even though I was just diagnosed late 2016. Do yall shave the hair or just let it be??

For Those Who Have To Shave Your Chin Everyday And Have Sensitive Skin, How Do You Deal With Razor Bumps And Irritation?

I have shave everyday (I just started to apply a mixture of oils to create a barrier on my skin) and I use 5 blade razors for men because they get me a smooth shave, but I don't know what to put on afterwards to prevent irritation and razor bumps.
