I was diagnosed with PCOS in Nov 2016 after a couple years of infertility and miscarriage. The doctor had me start taking metformin. The only side effect I experienced was that I had loose bowels everyday, usually multiple times a day. A couple months later I did my first month taking letrozole. Only side effect was some bad mood swings. On my 3rd month of taking letrozole, I got pregnant with twins. We were shocked. Unfortunately at 9 weeks, we lost one twin, but we were still over the moon that one baby made it. My doctor had me continue to take metformin until I was about 12 weeks. My son was born in March 2018. Miraculously, 9 months later, I was pregnant again without taking anything. I now have a 2 year old son and a 7 month old daughter. So so thankful I decided to try the letrozol!! Hope it works for you πŸ’—

I had a really bad experience on Metformin! For some women, it works, but it made me super nauseous, messed up my gut, I lost a ton of weight (I'm lean to start with), and I ended up in the ER after 6 weeks on it with hyperemesis, which was scary and painful. You could look into the research around Berberine which is often talked about as a natural alternative to Metformin and talk to your doctor about this option. I'm on it now and it's helping! No side effects.

I've also taken both Clomid and Letrozole. The side effects Letrozole are much easier to handle and my doctor said it's often preferable for women with PCOS.
