Best Diet For PCOS
A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

So I was recently diagnosed with PCOS. I have had a period since I was 9, they were heavy and then after being on bc to regulate in my teens, everything was normal. Right before getting married, I stopped bc to lose weight but that didn't happen. Anyways, 4 months after getting married....I gained at least 20 lbs, and I no longer had regular periods. I was worried about being able to conceive and just assumed my weight gain and stress meant no period. Luckily, I got pregnant and had a healthy… read more

Hi! Congrats on your bundle of joy! I pass this diet challenge around like wildfire it helped me figure out what worked and what didnt for me, along with a lot of trial and error. https://www.smartfertilitychoices.com/free-30-d...

I use myfitnesspal to help me track all of my calories, food notes, and things I'm noticing that affect me.

Also perhaps have a look into Ovasitol its an OTC supplement that many women with PCOS have success with.

Fast results just don't happen when it comes to losing unfortunately. I've only managed 50 pounds in 2 years but I feel so much better, much better energy levels, less digestive issues and less mood issues. I eat a paleo diet which is gluten, dairy, grain, refined sugar free and I workout 3-4 days a week with a trainer. It's slow but progress is progress. I can't eat low carb as my body doesn't like it but I have to be careful with what carbs I do eat. I eat more complex carbs that take longer to digest.

Well, I didn't know I had PCOS at the time. Last year I had a heavy period in February....then another in July. And my worry was literally only having 1 shot at getting pregnant, so once I knew I would be ovulating, we did it every day. So I got lucky, but we do want one more and want to try next summer. But now that I have PCOS... I'm worried that it won't be as easy. The obgyn put me on bc to regulate, so hopefully that works. But so far...I've had one longer heavier period. I just want everything to work and I want to see results fast.
