Metformin sometimes takes a while to work. I was on metformin for a few years and my period never regulated, it helped me with weight loss, but my doctor told me I might have to do fertility… read more

Metformin
A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

So when I read that metformin causes gas/upset stomach/diarrhea they weren't kidding. It's been about a month now and I want to know...am I going to be plagued with diarrhea forever???? It doesn't seem worth it. I'm scared to eat because I don't know what's going to make my upset stomach and diarrhea even worse than it already is.

What Is The Longest You Missed Your Period?
A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

What is the longest you missed your period? Mines a guessing game. I once went two years without one and then usually it’s once every year.

What Treatments Are There To Help With Weight
A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

I struggle with my weight so badly. It's frustrating I eat small portions, exercise, and eat mostly non- processed food, I don't know what else to do I lost a bunch and then gained it all back and then some and I didn't do anything differently. I've also had 6 miscarriages. I'm so frustrated with my body and even with antidepressants I feel suicidal. People are so mean to me because of my weight and try as I might I just keep going up. I was on metformin and it made my depression and anxiety go… read more

My Periods Were Always Very Few And Far Between, But I Have Now Not Had A Period For Two Years. Should I Be Concerned And Contact My GP?
A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

Started periods at age 17, went on the pill at 18 so no real way of monitoring regularity of cycles. Tried to conceive from 2016-2021 but made the decision to stop fertility treatment. Have a very healthy and active lifestyle, healthy weight but would gain weight easily if I was not careful. No period at all now for 2 years. Not sure if this is a cause for concern and whether I should contact my GP.

What Should I Do To Change My Diet Lifestyle?

I was diagnosed with PCOS about a month ago. What were your first steps for dieting? Also, so many of you go to a nutritionist or have you mainly done the research on your own?

A myPCOSteam Member

When does the weight gain stop? I am insulin resistant and take metformin. I don’t think its working because i keep feeling bigger as the days go on. Should i take supplements? How do you know what else you need? I dont even want to eat anymore its so bad.

Please don’t starve yourself!!!! It’ll make things worse:( fiber is your friend. Don’t worry about the calories. Focus on lean protein and fruits and veggies. You’re body will balance out

Has Anyone Ever Had A Period That Seems To Be "stuck" Inside You?
A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

Its the second time as far as I can remember that it's happened to me as both times when my periods have started I've swapped my sensitive bladder pads for my period pads like I always do and every time I've gone to the toilet there's nothing on the pad, but there's blood on the tissue and it makes me think that my periods have somehow gotten "stuck" inside me. It's the only way I can think of to explain it.
