How Do You Start Changing?
A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

I feel like I’ve fallen so far into the PCOS hole that I don’t know how to scratch my way out of it, doctors don’t want to talk to me about it until I lose weight which feels next to impossible. I’ve tried Metformin, It makes me so sick even after 2 months on it and I can’t use birth control Because it’s not safe medically for me so I feel like I’ve just been written off and don’t know where to start and some days I just feel so hopeless and like I’m just stuck like this. I also have doctors… read more

Yes, the hightened hormones really can effect someone emotionally. Think of a pregnant woman - she can easily be emotional in any direction.

Has Anyone Ever Got Their Period Back?
A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

I used to have semi-regular periods every 4-6 weeks. Took Nexplanon, gained 60 pounds in a year, and didn't get but one period while I was on it. Now no period in over a year and a half since I had Nexplanon taken out. Diagnosed with PCOS when I went to the OBGYN trying to get my period back to have babies. No success yet, trying vitamins and supplements. Has anyone gotten their cycle back after weight loss or procedures or taking supplements? I know there are success stories with having babies… read more

My Periods Were Always Very Few And Far Between, But I Have Now Not Had A Period For Two Years. Should I Be Concerned And Contact My GP?
A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

Started periods at age 17, went on the pill at 18 so no real way of monitoring regularity of cycles. Tried to conceive from 2016-2021 but made the decision to stop fertility treatment. Have a very healthy and active lifestyle, healthy weight but would gain weight easily if I was not careful. No period at all now for 2 years. Not sure if this is a cause for concern and whether I should contact my GP.

What Treatments Are There To Help With Weight
A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

I struggle with my weight so badly. It's frustrating I eat small portions, exercise, and eat mostly non- processed food, I don't know what else to do I lost a bunch and then gained it all back and then some and I didn't do anything differently. I've also had 6 miscarriages. I'm so frustrated with my body and even with antidepressants I feel suicidal. People are so mean to me because of my weight and try as I might I just keep going up. I was on metformin and it made my depression and anxiety go… read more

I Am Getting An Ovarian Wedge Resection On Both Ovaries In A Few Days. Has Anyone Had Experience With This Surgery?
A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

My doctor recommend a laparoscopic ovarian wedge resection on both ovaries. As well as looking for and possibly excising endometriosis. I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2017 but have had symptoms since my first period at 10 years old. So, this has been a loooooooong journey for me. I am 26 now and finally feel like I am being listened to by my doctor about the pain, discomfort, and overall poor quality of life.

Has anyone had this procedure done? What should I expect? How was your experience? Any… read more
