I have been off my birth control for 9 months now and I would still go months without a period. After months of no period I would have one light for a month or two. In most cases I've read about people don't have them at all. i have never hear of anyone having longer periods. Is there anyone else like this? Also, have you found that other women in your family struggled with PCOS.
in that case im not a doctor im just sharing experiences we are all different we all get different symptoms but i do get freaked out when i dont get my period being on birth control even though that… read more
Ok, so I have a weird question. My area down there has always been SUPER sensitive. When I was a young teen, I discovered this by accident. The sensation from my pants caused an orgasm once, and bruising another time. So, I started wearing pantiliners daily to deal with this. It helps a lot, but I read and have heard from others that I shouldn't wear pantiliners everyday because it can cause infections. I don't wear them at night, but I do when I am wearing any sort of pants or shorts… read more
Thank you. I have tried men's pants, they don't quite fit my body type....
I will look into the reusable pads. That would save me money in the long run anyway...
When diagnosed they took me off BC. I am 33 with no kids and do want them.
But everyone I have talked to they have PUT them on BC for this stuff.
I am so confused and get so many stories, its so stressful.
Any feed back would help.
Thanks
I asked my doctor the same question, I had no interest on going on birth control if I didn't *need* to. According to my Dr. it's not medically necessary, only if you want to deal with symptoms of high… read more
I tend to do this when women around me are pregnant, often before they know or have said anything. My doctor said this was normal a long time ago when a mother may not live through birth. Other women often produced milk at the same time, even though they weren't pregnant in case they needed to care for the baby. Apparently, I am one of the lucky ones that do this
Only thing is, it doesn't just cause me to produce milk, it messes with my cycle as well.... The last time this happened, the girl… read more
No you aren't the only one. I'm on medications like an SSRI that raises prolactin levels. The last time I've checked with my doctor they've said my prolactin levels were normal and I would still… read more
Does anyone else get cold like symptoms before their period comes? I noticed this the first cycle I had since being on metformin, and I'm wondering if that means this is about to happen again...
Its like a stuffy nose, headache, head cold. I feel sick (not nauseous, but like i'm coming down with something), and sooo tired. This happened right before I got my first period on metformin (for like a week). I'm hoping this isn't going to happen every time...
Hey Bell.. it's harsh.. I used to bloat like I'm 6 months Preg.. and the fatigue and headaches .. but the pms symtoms have become more manageable recently since taking inosital...hope you feel better… read more
I recently tried to start birth control with my Gyn. She requested an ultrasound because I wanted to avoid hormonal birth control due to preexisting depression and get the Paragard IUD. During the ultrasound, they found that I have multiple cysts on my right ovary, and have a thickened uterine lining(1.2cm, 12mm). I went in to have a follow-up discussion in regards to the ultrasound and she said I have PCOS, the thickened uterine lining is fine because "I'm young" and she sent me with a… read more
My doc did an ultrasound and blood work over the course of 12 months before diagnosing me. Maybe its worth seeking a second opinion if you're worried? Or just request your current doc to do some more… read more
This is based on my physical exam and lab results- no ultrasound but it seems pretty obvious now that I have been looking it up (It explains so much!) My doc is just a GP and I want to make sure I come prepared with questions assuming she won't give me full info without prodding.
I have found that GP knows a bit but a OB or RE would be your best bet for answers. So my suggestion is find a good OB and continue to work with that provider :)
I've been reading about inositol, and the benefits for women with PCOS or severe Anxiety. I'm wondering who takes inositol and how it has worked or not worked for you. I'm also wondering if you did or didn't talk to your doctors about it first?
I’ve been taking Ovasital which has helped so much!!! It’s myo-inositol and D-chiro-inositol. The research and study group had the best response to the combination and 40:1 ratio this supplement has.

You can drink Alkaline powder (A Vogel make one in South Africa) not sure who would make it where you are.
Reduce caffeine, gluten, dairy and acidic foods in your diet.
